Searching for YNAB supported banks usually means one of two things: which banks YNAB connects to natively through Direct Import, or which European banks you can still sync to YNAB when Direct Import does not list yours.

YNAB Direct Import (via Plaid) covers 18 European countries, but only a subset of banks in each market. Many European YNAB users still export CSV files weekly because their institution is missing or the connection breaks after credential changes.

BudgetSyncer lists open-banking institutions in 29 of 30 European markets below. YNAB Direct Import (Plaid) is available in 17 of those countries for some banks only — it is a separate product from BudgetSyncer.

YNAB Direct Import availability is based on YNAB’s published European coverage (Plaid). Institution-level support always varies — confirm your bank in the directory links above.

Which banks does YNAB support in Europe?
YNAB Direct Import via Plaid is available in 18 European countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Even in those countries, only selected banks appear in YNAB’s institution search — not every local bank.
Which YNAB supported banks does BudgetSyncer cover?
BudgetSyncer lists 2,700+ institutions across 29 of 30 European markets via Enable Banking. That includes many banks missing from YNAB Direct Import, plus additional coverage in countries where YNAB has no Direct Import at all (for example Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece). Some listed markets still have no banks yet — check the directory for the current count.
Is my bank supported if it is not in YNAB Direct Import?
Often yes. Search for your bank under your country in this directory or in the BudgetSyncer connection wizard after signing up. If your institution appears, you can authorize it through your bank’s PSD2 consent screen and map it to a YNAB account. If your country shows no banks yet, use the request form on that country page.
How do I find YNAB supported banks in my country?

What European countries have no YNAB Direct Import?
YNAB Direct Import is not offered in Iceland and much of Central and Eastern Europe, including Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Greece, Hungary, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia. BudgetSyncer may still list banks in those countries when Enable Banking supports them — confirm each market in the live directory.
